THE CHALLENGE

St. Mary’s University Twickenham is home to over 6,000 students, has a long-standing reputation for academic excellence, and boasts Olympic-standard training facilities. The university engaged Akendi to help them understand their user's journeys, uncover experience issues, make recommendations, and create a strategy that would guide the website redesign.

OUR APPROACH

The Akendi team worked closely with the university’s various departments to ensure they were equally represented and understood the objectives of the website redesign. To achieve this, Akendi held a series of workshops with key stakeholders to uncover their unique requirements. Akendi also carried out a detailed competitive analysis of the site and extensive user research to understand user's pain points and frustrations. The findings were then used to develop a detailed UX plan and a strategy for a phased implementation of a user-friendly website.

The new website is intuitive and easy to navigate, resulting in a positive experience for students, staff, and other visitors. Browsers can find their required information without using search, speeding up online enrolment processes, and thus improving website performance. The new website also improves services for alumni students and facilitates the development of corporate partnerships through intuitive menus and self-service applications.
