A CLOSER LOOK AT USER TASKS AND CONTEXT OF USE HELPED CREATE THIS CLEAN GRAPHIC INTERFACE

Akendi provided graphical user interface designs to create a best in class user experience for ecobee Smart SI users. The interface had to follow brand guidelines and move from the already successful ecobee touchscreen thermostat to an entry-level version with a non-touchscreen interface – without losing ease of use.

With a solid understanding of users, their tasks and context of use, we were able to create an effective set of wireframes to capture the flow and interactions. This greatly helped to establish the labels, language and functions that needed to be present in the design. The final result is a successful visual design approach that ensured a seamless connection between established products, the brand and the hardware.
