Certified User Experience Specialist™
Akendi offers an in-depth User Experience certification program that will help to recognize your user experience research & design expertise in your organisation.
There are three types of certification:
- Certified User Experience Researcher (CXR™)
- Certified User Experience Designer (CXD™)
- Certified User Experience Specialist (CXS™)
each with their own ux training course track to prepare for the certification exam. The exam date and location for Researcher, Designer and Specialist tracks are:

User Experience Specialist™ (CXS™) Certification
This is our full program, courses in both research and design to support a UX specialist deepen their skill set. The following courses are included:
- Introduction to User Experience Design (AD-101) - 1 day
- Customer and User Experience Research (AR-205) - 2 days
- Information Architecture Design (AD-102) - 2 days
- Mobile User Experience Design (AD-103) - 2 days
- Usability Testing (AT-403) - 2 days
- Strategic Usability (AS-305) - 1 day
- Certification Exam (CXS™) - 3 hrs
User Experience Researcher™ (CXR™) Certification
The Research track focusses on analysis and research of customers and users. The following courses are included:
- Introduction to User Experience Design (AD-101) - 1 day
- Customer and User Experience Research (AR-205) - 2 days
- Usability Testing (AT-403) - 2 days
- Strategic Usability (AS-305) - 1 day
- Certification Exam CXR™- 3 hrs
For a total of 6 days training and certification exam.
User Experience Designer™ (CXD™) Certification
The Design track deepens skills and knowledge leading to improved web, mobile & software user experiences.
- Introduction to User Experience Design (AD-101) - 1 day
- Information Architecture Design (AD-102) - 2 days
- Mobile User Experience Design (AD-103) - 2 days
- Strategic Usability (AS-305) - 1 day
- Certification CXD™ - 3 hrs
For a total of 6 days training and certification exam.
CXS™, CXD™, CXR™ Certification Exam
The Akendi CXS/D/R exams are a combination of assessing the usability and user experience knowledge level of participants as well as assessment through a hands-on component where aquired skills and knowledge are put into practise. The exam has a duration of 3 hrs.
Who should attend
Anyone who has completed the individual Akendi training course in a 2yr timespan.

User Experience Certification Program Fees
- Certified User Experience Specialist: $4850 including exam
- Certified User Experience Designer: $2975 including exam
- Certified User Experience Researcher: $2975 including exam
Cancellation Policy
Training cost is per person as stated with a minimum 4 participants per course. Akendi reserves the right to cancel a scheduled training session up to 5 business days prior to the training if a minimum class size of 4 participants has not been attained. Akendi is not responsible for any travel or other costs incurred as result of a cancellation.

Some of our Instructors
Cindy Beggs brings a passion for understanding user needs and having those reflected in product and service excellence to Akendi. With 23 years of experience, underpinned by an honours degree in Psychology and Masters in Library Science, Cindy brings both a theoretical and practical understanding to the design and execution of user research and analysis.
Along with her expertise in library and information science, Cindy has conducted usability testing and applied the methods of user centered design to persona development, needs assessment and the articulation of business strategy and user goals.
A lifelong learner herself, Cindy has taught Akendi training courses, library programming and promotions at Seneca College, Toronto, facilitated focus groups and created training modules on electronic and web based information products.
Dominira Saul believes that behind every well-designed product or service there is a thorough understanding of the actual users and their needs.
Having presented many influential research and design outcomes to clients at all levels of the private and public sector Dominira is very adept at putting his belief into practice. Dom remains focused on ensuring clear transfer of design recommendations and most
importantly, rationale to our clients. Dom is committed to working closely with clients to ensure their success.
Dominira is a fluently bilingual communicator who has lectured at the university level, and delivered many usability training courses.
Dom has an MSc. in User Interface Design from London Guildhall University, a BA in Psychology from Carleton University and over 10 years of usability research and interaction design experience in the UK and Canada.
