Ian Chalmers – A founding partner of Akendi. Good people with good ideas move us forward. Ian is a creative entrepreneur. Since an early age, many innovative start-ups have been sparked by his keen energy and design passion.
A graduate of OCAD in both Fine Arts and Communication Design, Ian launched Pivot Design Group in 1998 - winning relationships with clients such as the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, Daily Bread Food Bank, Delta Hotels, George Brown College, Labatt Breweries, Walt Disney Company and Unicef to name just a few.

Ian’s operating principle champions methods and processes that embrace the human element: the collaborative nature of the project, the importance of client partnership, the opportunity for enjoyment in work, and the enhancement of the customer experience all play a vital role the design and production process. This translates directly into the success of the project, but more importantly, it impacts positively on the well being of business or organization.
Over the years, Ian’s philanthropic desire has found him lending his design hands and experience to a number of community organizations, such as Pencils for Kids, SickKids Foundation and The James Fund.
